What is a Health & Wellness Coach?
Health coaching is a confidential partnership between a coach and their client, and it begins with an introductory meeting where the client’s health history is discussed. During this session, initial concerns are addressed as well as any restrictions, potential mind set blockages, lifestyle considerations, and long-term and short-term goals.
Together, we'll take manageable steps to bring renewed energy, health, happiness and freedom to your life. Whether you're looking to lose weight, improve your fitness & mobility, build a resilient and confident mindset, or free yourself from anxiety, reduce stress and finally sleep better ... you're in the right place.
It’s a client led partnership conducted in a safe space for clients to share and learn … The aim for the partnership is to get the client from where they are to where they want to be.
Client concerns may look something like:
‘I’m having problems losing weight,’
‘I’m sick of feeling tired all the time,’
‘I’m bloated and have no idea why,’
‘I just don’t feel like myself,’
‘ I’d like to start exercising but I don't know which exercise to do and how to start it,’
‘I’d like to eat healthy but I’m so confused, I have no idea anymore what is healthy eating’
‘I’m having problems sleeping, it’s really affecting my life’
These areas of concern are personal and will vary greatly from client to client.
After the initial meeting, the client and coach meet again, to further discuss goals and decide on a working, flexible timeline for achieving them.
As your health coach, I’m here to offer consistent accountability, encouragement and personalised support so you can move forward with confidence and for things to stay on track.
No matter what your goals are, and how committed you are, it’s completely normal to feel stuck or lose momentum. Together, we will set clear intentions, create a realistic plan, and build habits that fit naturally into your daily life so they are realistic and sustainable.
Having a supportive and encouraging mentor can make all the difference when you are creating meaningful, long-lasting change.
You have 3 options depending on where you are on your health journey:
1. If you are new to Health Coaching then it's biweekly sessions over 6 months. Research suggests it takes between 66 and 250 days for a new habit to become the new routine.
2. If you are on your own health journey and it’s going well but you want to check everything you are doing is right for you, then this can be a one off 60 or 90 minute session or a 3 month biweekly programme.
3. I offer maintenance service - After a client’s initial 6 months programme with me, they may want to check in with me once a month or once every 2/3 months - I keep this open and flexible.
When figuring out questions to ask of new or potential Health Coaches, it’s important to go in with a plan. Well-organized and trained coaches will be able to walk you through a general overview of their scope of practice, what services they offer, and how they work with clients, but you may have questions that relate to your specific situation. Having these ready ahead of time allows you to decide whether the coach will be a good fit for your needs.
